Prünte – Quality out of tradition
Prünte – Prünte – For six generations this name stands for an unparalleled quality of whole grain rye bread based on a long bakery tradition.
It started with a small craftsman bakery in the Münsterland region, founded by Georg Prünte in 1778. In the 1930s, Wilhelm Prünte started to run a bakery in Gelsenkirchen. By that time, the mining industry was flourishing in the Ruhr region, with hungry miners asking for tasty bread – a promising market for a baker. The main focus of our medium-sized company still lies on the home region of Rhineland and Westphalia, where we serve local grocery stores as well as bakeries with our own fresh service.
But not only our regional consumers appreciate the special taste of Prünte Bread, but the exceptional taste and nutritional value of our Westphalian specialities are increasingly appreciated outside of Germany.
